Get Involved!

This multifaceted ministry has a place for everyone to become involved.

Missions help with financial donations for many different needs. Through our various mission fundraising efforts funds are distributed throughout the year as the Missions and Leadership Teams are made aware of needs locally, nationally, and globally.
A Missionary at First United Methodist Church has many choices including:

Volunteer work at the Food Pantry.
    Visit members who are home-bound.
Take a mission trip to Mexico or Russia.
Be a participant in the home communication missions teams.
    Adopt a child at Christmas.
    Volunteer for natural disaster relief.
Help organize/ volunteer for mission fundraising projects.
    Serve on the Missions Team.
Participate in local, national, and global mission opportunities.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Last year we packed our shoeboxes with love, sent them with prayer, and helped share the Good News of Jesus Christ with a hurting child. Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations worldwide.
Let’s do that again:
1.Find your shoebox (or plastic similar size) and wrap top and bottom separately, if you choose to wrap.
2.Decide if your gift will be for a boy or girl and what age. Fill out the appropriate label.
3.Fill with love and gifts to bring a child delight. Check tips and restrictions posted near the church office.
4.Include a $7 shipping/project cost. This can be done online and print the label or you can just add it to your shoebox on top of the goodies.          samaritanspurse.org/occ
5.Bring all shoeboxes (with a rubber band around each) to the church office as soon as possible. We will transport to a collection center on Friday, November 18.

A Gospel storybook and discipleship program will travel with our shoeboxes across the globe. Praise God for the eternal impact our gifts might bring to a child!
